Terms & Conditions

Tuition and Payment

The lesson rate is $300 per quarter for once weekly 30-minute lessons. Each quarter includes approximately 9-10 lessons. Tuition is a flat fee and does not change based on holidays, absences, or the number of lessons attended.

Invoices are sent prior to each quarter, which is divided by roughly 10 weeks each:

Quarter 1: August-October

Quarter 2: October-December

Quarter 3: January-March

Quarter 4: March-May

Tuition is due before the quarter starts. Payment secures the student's spot for the quarter.

The summer session is billed at $200 for 6 lessons. Full payment is required before the first summer lesson. No refunds or partial credits are available for summer lessons.

Late fees of $15 may be applied to invoices not paid within 7 days of the due date. Lessons may be paused if tuition is not paid in full.

Attendance and Cancellations

No refunds are issues once a quarter begins, regardless of attendance or withdrawal. No refunds are issued for summer sessions under any circumstances. If the teacher must cancel a lesson, a makeup or credit will be offered.

One excused absences per quarter may be eligible for a makeup lesson with t least 24-hour notice. Makeups are scheduled at the teacher's discretion and subject to availability. Lessons missed without 24-hour notice are considered forfeited and not eligible for makeup or refund.

If the instructor cancels a lesson, it will be rescheduled or credited to the next quarter's invoice.

Calendar

The academic year is divided into four quarters, each approximately 9-10 weeks long. Lessons are scheduled once per week on the site, and are allowed to be scheduled in advance to provide a consistent day and time. Enrollment reserves a student's time slot for the entire academic year. Breaks for holidays (eg. Thanksgiving, winter break, spring break) are factored into the studio calendar and do not affect tuition.

Summer lessons are scheduled flexibly during June and July, and the cost considers camps, vacation, and travel. Enrollment in the summer session is optional, and any lessons left incomplete during the summer session do not carry over into the school year.

Communications

All scheduling changes, inquiries, and updates should be made via this website or business email. Please allow up to 24 hours for a response during the teaching week. The studio may send periodic newsletters or emails about studio events, closures, or important updates.

Student Expectations

Students are expected to arrive on time, with all materials, and having practiced assigned work. Weekly practice is essential for progress. Parents of younger children are encouraged to help establish a consistent practice routine. Students are responsible for purchasing books and materials as recommended by the teacher, and these should be brought to every lesson. Some books may be available directly for purchase from the teacher.

Lessons begin and end at the scheduled time. Late arrivals will not receive extended time unless the teacher's schedule allows. Parents/guardians are responsible for student transportation and prompt arrival. Parents are welcome to quietly observe lessons or wait nearby if space allows. Consistent parental support, especially for younger students, significantly enhances progress and engagement.

 Media and Recitals

Students may be invited to participate in studio recitals, festivals, or competitions. Participation is optional unless otherwise required (eg. for scholarship students or advanced tracks). Registration fees for outside events are the responsibility of the family.

Photos or videos may be taken at recitals or lessons for promotional purposes on the studio website or social media. Families may opt out by submitting a written request.

Discontinuation of Lessons

Customers may discontinue lessons within 30 days of written notice before the next quarter starts. No refunds will be given for unused lessons within that period. The teacher reserves the right to terminate lessons at anytime for reasons including but not limited to repeated non-payment, excessive absences, inappropriate behavior, lack of student progress due to chronic unpreparedness.

Accessibility

The studio strives to be inclusive and accessible. Accommodations for physical, cognitive, or sensory needs can be arranged upon request. Please notify the teacher in advance so the necessary support can be provided.
